Photo Tag

Ok...so I am dawdeling today....(is that even spelled right??) Anyway, I have lotsa catching up to do, and Momster tagged me like AGES ago....so here is my response.

Photobucket

What you are supposed to do is pull up your photofile, open the 4th file folder and post your 4th photo in that folder.

This is a photo of our little gal.....swinging away on her tree swing! She was so proud of this swing, her and FarmBoy made it together while I was at work one day. This was actually one of the last "nice weekends" we had this fall. If you look close, you will see that she is sitting on a towel....they did not have the patience to SAND this swing before trying it out, and Ky had a big ole' splinter in her butt!! Still, instead of sanding it (after the splinter was removed) they covered the seat with a towel! Poor ole' Strawberry Shortcake was full of filth the entire weekend!! Yep...I was too lazy to sand it too...and the towel DID prevent splinters in the rump....so who cares about Strawberry Shortcake and her splinters!!

So if you want to join the fun.....post your pic and leave a comment on here for me to come take a peek...I promise to work on my timeliness.....really I do!!!! Cross my heart....hope to die...stick a needle in my eye.......

Funny Christmas Carol

Ok....I just got this email, and at first, I could not figure what the heck this guy was singing...then, as I scrolled down the page....the lyrics were there! I guess this especially made me laugh since my first job was at a "burger joint". Anyway....take a peek....it made me smile!!

Yes...I am still ALIVE!!

Holy COW!! What a chaotic little world I have been living in lately! I can hardly believe that it is November, let alone MID November! So much has been going on...yet when I was chatting with a pal yesterday and they asked, "So where have you BEEN FarmGirl?" I simply did not know....where have I been? What HAVE I been doing? Hell if I know...I just know that Christmas is nipping at my heels and I have lost that summer tan....what the HECK is up with that?

So how does time pass us by so quick? What is really so important that you lose contact with friends for a week or more at a time? Life....that is what happens. It seems that I have so little time lately, that what time I DO have, I am trying to spend it with FarmBoy and Ky. But that is the story of everyone's life, right!! I just am not a good time manager, and I tend to be a little OCD when it comes to my job--I just cannot relax if I have things that need to get done. If I leave work with a big fat list of things to do....even if I AM home...I tend to fret about what is left at work. Personal problem.....I know.

(I am checking my photobucket for cools pics...be back.....)

Ok....I don't even have any cool pics to share...now that is SAD!! (Ok...mental note...I need to get a grip on my life.) Who goes a full month without taking a picture? Now I am frustrated! I had no idea until I just went to my photobucket, that I have NO PICS!! Not even ones that need to be downloaded! Crap, crap, crap!

Enough whining...I know! I like lists, so I will make a list now as to what we have been doing....maybe then it will make me feel like I haven't lost an entire month.

1. Farming - FarmBoy has been hard at it. We still have corn and beans in the fields, but I think (I really don't know for sure) the wheat is in. I love the wheat...it gets green so early in the spring, when everything is all brown and dead from winter. Wheat symbolizes hope for me....

2. Ky - I am so proud of her. She has been selected for the National Young Scholars Program. How is it that a child, meerly 10 yrs old, can be so incredibly grown up? And how did it happen? (Again...I have issues with time--DUH!) She was nominated by her teacher and principal for her "ability to demonstrate exceptional maturity, scholastic merit and leadership..." Talk about puffing up like a big ole' rooster! I have been strutting around, eager to tell anyone who will listen! It is a week program (out of state....yikes!) that will stimulate her creativity/curiosity with fun, engaging projects. No parents are allowed AND it costs $1900...but we are looking at maybe a fundraiser/sponsership. So I have been trying to research fund availability...in my free time of course!!

3. House - This is ticking me off. We spoke with a contractor 3 mos ago, he gave us a bid, and gave us a worst-case-scenario date of Nov 1. Go ahead...ask me......the answer is............... NOOOO!! He has not been by, called--nada. So FarmBoy called him on Friday to find out what was going on (he was worried about what I would say....so he called instead of me) Well, Mr. Hawkins (ya...I said his name...so THERE!!) forgot about us! Can you believe that! FarmBoy asked when he could fit us in...he said mid-December! FarmBoy let him know that his wife was not going to be too thrilled about this, and let him know we would call him back. Needless to say, FarmBoy was defending this joker before he even told me what happened (the male species cracks me up!) And now it is the principal of the matter....I can't get anyone to put our windows in any sooner, but I'll be damned if Matt or his dad touches my windows. I mean, seriously.....if you don't want to do the job, then say it....I CAN handle the truth. But no, the 2 jerks stood in my living room singing the song I wanted to hear, instead of being honest...saying that they would not have the time to get to it. Well BITE ME!! I've gone this long with those rickety old ass windows, I can wait until spring!! In the mean time, I will be running my big ass mouth to anyone that listens to me.....and get this......we were paying cash!! And they were getting $1000 to do a 2 day job...CASH!!! Freakin' morons!! I can see it now...I am going to have to buy one of those DIY videos at Home Depot on how to install windows, and I will be out there this spring trying out my new "trade". Now that, folks, is some funny shit.....cuz I am NOT handy...I am crafty (and a little bitchy), but NOT handy!

Ok....enough for now. But all is well in my neck of the woods....just working like a mad dog. I know I won't get to post much...at least for a week or so, so I must let you know what has me all excited this week.......TWILIGHT!! Check out the movie trailer....I am pumped up....so who else is going to be seeing this???

Have a wonderful week everyone....I do miss chatting with you all...I have been a bad bloggy friend. I will return soon! I will try to stop by and visit you all! Thanks for thinking of me!! TaTa for now!!

I've been TAGGED!!

Tina Bug has tagged me, so here are a few random facts about me (I know you have all been dying to learn more!! HA!)

1. I do NOT like nuts in my brownies, cookies, bread...NADA! If I want nuts in my food I will add it myself, thank you very much!

2. I love LOVE auctions. My record to date is about 6 hrs and 10 minutes. And boy oh boy...did I get me some DEALS!!!

3. I am dreadfully hateful when overheated....I am actually thinking of tatoo'ing a warning label, just in case!

4. I start playing Christmas music around Halloween...right now I have found my Point of Grace Christmas CD. I am trying to be strong and not play it, but I "fondled" it this morning....and I am thinking my will-power to resist is about out.

5. Speaking of Christmas, I am also considering watching ELF this weekend! I just love that movie!! (Can you tell, I LOVE Christmas)

6. My beloved friend, Ang, (she posted a few comments on the post previous to this) thinks I am crazy....as I am getting a 2nd job for this Christmas season. I hate to do it, but I don't want to stress about the money this year...and I love GIVING presents and I MUST go to Branson, MO....not an option!

7. I love Branson, MO....I just love it. Walking along the Landing--wandering aimlessly into the yummy shops, watching the ducks, listening to the music on the streets. I love strolling along the cobblestone road, the sidewalk vendors....and Joe's Crabshack! Our favorite time to go is in the winter, before Christmas. The Festival of Lights cannot compare to ANY light show I have ever been to. Just thinking about it makes me all giddy....I have attached the infamous Christmas Tree Lighting at Silver Dollar City--it is what they call "An Old Time Christmas". Many types of Christmas music, from Polar Express to some of my favorite Trans-Siberian Orchestra, fills the cool night air. Our entire family loves going here each year--even FarmBoy has started talking about going again.

So I know it is not Christmas yet, shoot, not even Halloween! Funny how my "random" facts has lead me into Christmas...and yes, I know I have problems!!

And that is all I wrote....mainly because I am currently bombarded with a crap load of work and shouldn't even be posting...but I just cannot resist!! I hope you all enjoyed!! Whoever wants to play along, please feel free to. Post a comment so that we can all go check out how incredibly "normal" you are!! Oh, and YEE HAW!!

Just a SWINGIN' {Friday Fiesta Foto}

Now how fun does this look! FarmBoy and Ky made this swing last week and put it up in an old tree we have in our back yard. She has been on it constantly!

Photobucket

I am just waiting for the screams of "MOM!! I HIT THE TREE" as I nurse a broken arm, but oh-well...since when do 10 year olds listen to their moms anyway. Besides, I must admit, there is some adrenaline that gets to flowing when you get too close to the tree...ah, yes....I've been a swingin' too!! I was scared to death of breaking the dang limb out of the tree, but here I am, still in one piece! Now FarmBoy, well, I tried to take him out, with my oh-so-long-slender legs (now THAT is funny people!!), and I almost wet myself. I had no idea that FarmBoy could bend like that! I have myself my own GUMBY!!

Like John Anderson sings..."And we were swingin', Yes we were swingin'".

{{For more great Friday Fiesta Foto's, check out Candid Carrie Better yet, join the fun!! See my oh-so-cute button on the right to get there too!}}

Happy Fall Ya'll

We went on a little adventure out into our woods Monday night, "Checking out the crops," as FarmBoy would say. Old Blue (now that is a classic farm truck if I have ever seen one) hauled us up the "old lane", Ky riding in the back with our other "puppies" and Little Man (who you met earlier this week) riding in the front seat between hubby and myself. This photo is of some of our corn on the east side of the woods. In the background, you can see that the woods surround this field--a great place for deer hunting (I only shoot with my camera!)

Photobucket

As you can see, it may be Autumn, but our leaves are still green, or all gone! I have GOT to plant some maples out here!!

Photobucket

Around to the right, there is a big clearing (our neighbor bails hay here) surrounded by woods. It is so amazing (so much so that I forgot to take a picture!!) to walk into the woods, so peaceful...and cool. In the summer, I will sometimes take Ole Blue and sit on the tailgate and read (FarmBoy brush hogs into the woods so I won't trip--I am a bit accident prone, go figure!) because it is always 10 degrees cooler in there. Well, long story short (ya right) we will take apples, melons, pumpkins, etc that have gone bad out there for the deer to eat...but we always throw the fruit at the trees, you know, to watch the fruit blow up. It is a great way to release tension, and we all know that Monday, after my car vs garage incident, I needed this. A blast was had by all...though FarmBoy was bummed because he had the biggest "air ball" of us all, which made Ky and I VERY pleased!!

We finally headed back, though Ky scrunched in the front with us...it was pretty chilly. It is truly amazing how quickly it is getting dark now. I truly love this time of year, but hate to see the sun go down. This next pic is taken of the good ole' Mid-West Sky...I just love the amber colors.

Photobucket

So take a minute sometime soon and enjoy this beautiful time of year--Happy Fall Ya'll!

FarmBoy's Buddy

FarmBoy loves this little guy, calling him "MACHO man..." in his Jolly Green Giant voice. Little Man (his REAL name) loves it because he indeed DOES feel Macho...being the only boy dog on the farm.

Photobucket

This photo is Little Man's pathetic attempt to make us feel sorry for him...needless to say, it only caused me to get the camera!

Just wanted to share!

What a day....

A typical Monday, some would say, but since when did waking up and going to work COST money? Leave it to me...I'd find a way. When the alarm went off this morning (when I thought it was Sunday), I should have just stayed put. We all were running around frantic-like, trying to figure out if it was Sunday or Monday...the arrival of the schoolbus confirmed it was indeed Monday. **UGH**

Pulling out of the garage was the icing on the cake...especially because my husband was there to witness my little "altercation" with the garage. It looked like I would truly prevail....I folded in the cotton-pickin mirrors and all!! (My Pacifica barely wedges in, maybe 2 inches to spare each side...may-be) Well, I guess it's a good thing I am not a gambler, because the garage won....$336 worth of damage! Can you IMAGINE!! I was freakin' fuming!

Called insurance (I have not had a ticket or claim in over 7 yrs) and those pocket book leeches told me that if I claimed it, it would cost me THREE POINTS!!! What does that mean, you ask....it means MORE money in premiums!! I have paid over...(I am getting a calulator...so just a sec.........)

$ 10,000 in premium and they wanna charge me more! They are freakin' idiots!

So...any suggestions for good insurance? Cuz I am ready to tell him to stick it where the sun DON'T shine!

{{{Ok, I DO realize hitting the garage is my fault...I am not blameless, but getting ripped off---I ain't into that. So there, I admitted I was WRONG...but only for hitting the garage door!!}}}}

Monday, October 6, 2008

Freakin' Hilarious!!

Ok...I accidently stumbled across this and I wasn't impressed UNTIL I saw his "fatal" move! I cannot stop laughing!! The outfit is so funky fresh...I think I am going to get one for FarmBoy!! Enjoy!!! I sure as hell did!!

Friday Fiesta Foto (A Priceless Moment)

Photobucket

My baby brother here with son #2. What an amazing reunion this past weekend of our families. He had served our country since before 9/11, and is now a full time dad. I am so incredibly proud of him...I just cannot even put it into words.

I was somewhat in awe as he was showing this little guy (my nephew) how to fish. Not that B understood a word. I think it was at this moment I realized how blessed we are as a family...to share in priceless moments like this.

Brief Recap...

Photobucket

I know that the top of his head is cut off....I am not blind. I just could not keep up with this little bugger! But I got him with his tongue out! This is my little nephew at the park this past weekend. I am absolutely in love with this little guy!!

Photobucket

Yep, I got the other brother's head in this one! He would at least "semi-pose" for me! Again, at the park during my brother's visit home last weekend.

Photobucket

It was a beautiful reunion of our families. MG is now in Wisconsin, with his wife, 2 boys and precious baby girl. How did the weekend go by so fast? We sure hated to see them go, but felt so blessed to have spent the time together....

Keeping FarmGirl Entertained

Ok, so I needed a good giggle today. I am feeling a bit under the weather, just exhausted, really. So, I am trying to find things that get me "pumped" because I have quite a few hours ahead of me today (it is only freakin' 10:30 in the morning!!! AHHH, 5 seems too dang far away!!) This is my 1st installment, or rather ATTEMPT, to keep this day moving forward.

Toodles!

A Riddle that works...

CALCULATING YOUR AGE FROM EATING OUT.

I won't ask your age,you probably would tell a falsehood anyway, Lordy knows I'm still 29!! Anyway, check this out....

It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read. Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out! This is not one of those waste of time things, unless you really do have somthing to do!!

1. First of all, pick the number of
times a week that you would like to go out to eat. (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold).

3. Add 5.

4. Multiply it by 50.

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758;
if you haven't, add 1757.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number. The first digit was your original number (i.e., how many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week).
The next two numbers are -----

YOUR AGE ! ------ (Oh YES, it is!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2008) THAT IT WILL EVER WORK!

How do people come up with this? And it is true!! I just am not that smart!!

Later!

Look What I Found!!

This whole cyber world still amazes me. I was out searching for John Deere things, and low and behold, I ran across these photos. I am so sad that the great state of Kansas made this new world record this year, but so proud that "farmers" got together to do this!! 160 acres were harvested with 100 combines and several grain trucks in 10 minutes and 15 seconds--can you BELIEVE that??? Holy macaroni!! What is really neat is that a portion of the crops were donated to a children's camp!

Farmer's ROCK!! Especially REAL farmers, you know, the ones that drive GREENE!!

YeE HaW!!!

I need some crackers please....

Ok...I busted my butt getting all my stuff done so I'd be ready. I, of course, am talking about CSI: Miami. I hustled the kid to bed and hubbie in the shower. I am ready to see what has happened to Mr. One-liner Cane...is he dead...or has he beaten the odds yet again!(you know he survived a small militia in Brazil) I started watching it laying down, but Wolfe was getting on my nerves, so I had to sit up.

I had my phone ready...ready to call my pal PJ if her "pal" Wolfe was a part of this set up. (She, for whatever reason, has "faith" is the jerk.) Shoot, I called during the 1st break and she didn't even answer the phone with "Hello, FarmGirl". Instead I got, "FarmGirl...Wolfe is a good guy...blah blah blah". Why does she like this punk anyway? I digress....

The initial storyline was great...I was ready to and willing to become part of the "Hunt the Wolfe Club"--I WANTED to be a part of that club! But nope...Wolfe was a good guy (he drives me batty) and the storyline was ruined in less than 15 minutes! Who the heck wrote this episode? I mean, what the hell? Who in their right mind would spoil a whole 3+ months anticipation by spilling the beans before the 2nd break? Had I not been waiting ALL SUMMER! I DESERVED a GREAT episode...what I got was cheese....cheese....cheese---from ALL of them! WTF? That was a crappy ass episode! So much cheese, and NO CRACKERS!!

So, I have included some of the finest "cheese" ever served by Horatio (somehow it's tolerable coming from him) for those, like me, that fell short of being entertained last night. Enjoy!

Idiot Roll Call

Ok...so the truth is out. My dear, wonderful hubbie officially thinks I am an idiot. Why, you wonder? So glad you asked...........

(Hubby painting barn...Hubby out of paint...hubby calling FarmGirl)

Me: Hello
Him: I'm outta paint
Me: Okayyyyyyyyyy, do you want me to get some?
Him: Ya, I need three 5 gallon buckets...barn and fence paint.
Me: Ok, I'll stop at Tractor Supply
Him: It needs to be barn and fence paint
(No shit sherlock, you are painting a barn, right? DUH)
Me: Ya, I remember...I picked it up last time
Him: I need THREE... (I imagine him holding up 3 fingers)
Me: Got it
Him: Barn and fence paint...the red label
Me: Ok
Him: Call me when you get there...it's the red label
(Shut the hell up! I get it!!)
Me: Got it
Him: Don't forget to call
Me: Ok (jerk)

So I go in the store, to get the freakin' paint....

(Phone rings)

Him: Did you get it? You didn't call
(I just got off the phone with you, moron!)
Me: The guy is getting it from the back.
Him: I need THREE, ok? (Using his high pitch kid voice)
Me: I KNOWWWWWWWWWW
Him: You're getting the Barn & Fence paint, right?
Me: Yes
Him: The white?
Me: Yes
Him: The guy is getting the red label, right?
Me: Yes
Him: ok, see ya in a bit

I get the paint loaded, am heading home.....

(Phone rings, *sigh*)

Me: hello
Him: So did you get it?
Me: yes
Him: The barn fence paint, right?
Me: yes
Him: The red label, you got the red label right?
Me: yes... (I am starting to feel ornery now)
Me: Ya, I got five, 3 gallons.

LONG PAUSE

Him: What?
(oh this is too fun!! Too easy!!)
Me: Ya, I got five, just like you told me.
Him: I didn't say five. Did you really get FIVE?
Me: Yes you said FIVE, 1-2-3-4-5
(hee hee...they don't make it in 3 gallons)
Him: (almost yelling) YOU GOT FIVE??? How much money did you spend?
Me: a little over $400
(I am seriously trying not to giggle....he is wiggin' out)
Him: Ok....ok.....well, we can take it back. You have the reciept, right?
(Do I look that ignorant!! Give me a freakin' break!)
Me: No...I told her I didn't need the reciept....sorry
Him: YOU.HAVE.GOT.TO.BE.KIDDING.ME.FARMGIRL!!!!!!!!!
(ok, I am crying---I am laughing way to hard)
Me: Hey, I got another call, I'll see you in about 20 minutes...bye

So, he's calling back, freakin' out! I mean seriously, I am an educated woman! But I don't answer the phone. I pull in the driveway, and here he comes! OMG...I swear I could hear his footsteps in the grass...he looked like a big ole Sasquatch! I ran in the house, cuz I am laughing so hard!! I watch from the window as he opens the back hatch...then he looks to the house, back to the THREE buckets of FIVE gallon paint!

Who's an idiot now, MISTER!!!

(Ahh....that would be my loving hubbie....he is so much fun to mess with!!)

Decor Montage Unfolded---and the Tween

Turns out the whole weekend wasn't completely wasted. I was dog sick on Saturday, but come Sunday, I felt well enough between naps to scatter more "stuff" through the house. Hubby tried to pretend that it was the last thing he wanted to do, but he really did enjoy it...he's the one that got the ladder, measured and cut it---withOUT me asking!! He tries to play tough---but he ain't nothin!!

((See slide show below))

I must tell a funny story about my daughter. Now that 5th grade is here, she has unfortunately discovered that boys are cute. I try to not laugh as she gushes about playing kickball with the boys, or that so n-so hit her on the arm....the secret language of a 5th grader...ahhh. Anyway, so she is "going with" this one kid...(who is worse than a woman on the phone!! AHHH!! And yes, Momma laid the law...she's only 10 for pete's sake!!) Okay, so yesterday, I get home and she tells me she needs to "talk" to me. I am thinking, good grief, now what. So I sit down and she steps in front of me and says, "I broke up with Travin." Now, I KNOW she is testing me...to see if I start laughing (I find this whole tween thing pretty humorous, most of the time). I calmly nod my head, no smiling...."I just told him that the relationship just wasn't working out." She then smiled, and went to playing her trumpet. What the heck was that...my 10 year old...acting so...adult. Sheesh...she is better at communicating than I am. Then....I went outside to call AJ to giggle about insane phone boy won't be calling anymore---such a great VICTORY for me!! One boy down...and hopefully not anymore to go...til' she's 25 or something!!

God Bless you all...I remember

Do you remember? I sure do...who will ever forget this? I was on my way to work, a sales meeting, when it first came over the airwaves...a plane has hit the World Trade Center. I thought I had heard wrong...can this really be happening? Surely not...then the 2nd plane. I thought I was going to vomit. I was crying and shaking my head in disbelief. All those people, their families....I prayed and prayed, saying the Lord's prayer as fast as I could...over and over, I couldn't think of anything else...I was in shock, disbelief.

We watched the horror together that day, in the bank. It was so quiet, no rustling of papers, no phones ringing--just us, as we all cried silently, men & women, holding hands, hugging, trying to make sense of this horrific event. I wanted to leave so badly and get my little girl, 3 at the time, and just hug her, love her. Did I tell her I loved her this morning...did she hear me? I just cannot imagine anything more tragic to happen to innocent people. We watched in silence and horror as the Towers fell. Then I was angry...so angry that ANYONE would do something like this. I felt like a trapped animal...I remember shaking, wanting to hit something, then feeling so weak...I felt so helpless.

Today, on the radio while I was driving to work, the station had a moment of silence with a music montage of sound clips from that day. A 9-1-1 phone call...a woman named Melissa who had called begging for help and the dispatcher praying with her, trying to soothe her, knowing that her voice was the last Melissa would most likely hear...then there was silence--Melissa's voice was there no longer, no longer praying and begging for help...only the dispatcher calling her name, and praying to God.

I cried today...listening to that, remembering. It felt just as horrible today as it did that day. I cried for all those families, mommies and daddies, that are no longer here. I cried for the brave men & women firefighters, that risked their lives to save so few. I cried for the pain & sorrow of all those that lost a loved one. I cried for America, my beloved country.

Oh yes, I remember...I will never forget. May God Bless you all, that no one will ever have to experience anything this horrific again. Keep your family & friends close today, tell them you love them.

Mess with the Bull....You get the horns!!!

Come on...just give it to me....it is my day. I should have just stayed in bed this morning....

This crazy lady (client of ours) called today yellling...I didn't know why at first, but she was loosing it...grunting to herself and everything. It was like Heroshima with the F Bombs flying around! Then the wench hung up on me...ok fine. I get it you are mad, I can see her point. No problem. So I bend over backwards, calling the manufacturer, making him accountable for their crappy product, and he is going to personally go to this Wacko lady's house to fix this chair--that SHE has messed up (BTW). So, I let the FBombs slide and figure out a way to get this taken care of. I call her...in my oh-so-nice-to-chat-with-you-(FREAK) voice. She starts yelling again...I was shocked! I had a solution to her mess...shouldn't even be my freakin' problem, and the hoochie was freakin' screamin' at me! OH NO SHE DIDN'T!! But, the wench hung up before I could respond. I was fumin'....so, I decide I'm gonna take the high road and kill her with kindness....but I will not be hung up on TWICE!! So, I called her back...."I'm so sorry," I said, "I guess we had a bad connection." She then starts ranting about her busy day on Saturday...giving me very specific details fast....so I repeat them back to her, to be sure I have her life all organized (Like I really give a flying truck!) I said, "Herculeen, MO" and she goes off...AGAIN...

"NO!! LISTEN TO ME FARMGIRL....I WILL E-N-U-N-C-I-A-T-E F-O-R Y-O-U!! I- S-A-I-D- H-E-R-C-L-A-N-I-U-M , MO!" Then she demanded a freakin' credit....she hasn't even PAID FOR IT YET!! SHE OWES US $$$$$. I sweetly say, "I am sorry, I can't issue a credit when we have not been paid." Then, it was Pearl Harbor...FBOMBS...and she hung up! I bet you see where this is going....I am pretty easy to predict...

I called her back...."Really bad connection we have today, isn't it?" I said ever so sweetly. She said she was busy, then said bye, then hung up.

Manners people!! Ya want respect? Ya want me to help you? Then be freakin' nice and don't cuss me out! I didn't screw up your chair--YOU DID! I can't give you a credit--YOU HAVEN'T PAID!! I will walk thru fire for my family, friends, and my clients...I will fight battles that I should not have to fight....but let me tell you something, don't disrespect me! Don't yell at me! Don't hang up on me! I ain't puttin' up with that shit!

So, Miss Herculanim, MO (wherever the heck that is)...........BITE ME!!!

Sun Dog 101

Well, what a beautiful weekend! I know it is Tuesday...but so what! Since when am I ever on time...unless it is for Friday Fiesto Foto Finish...

Last night was amazing. We went down to one of the irrigation lakes and went fishing. I was so excited because I was the only one catching anything. My hubby and I have an "unspoken" rivalry when it comes to fishing. I always lose, cuz I am by no means a pro, but last night...I was on FIRE!! Mike caught, nothing, nada, ZILCHO!! Poor Ky kept following me around, as soon as I'd catch a fish she'd ask ever so sweetly, "Mom, can I fish there now?" I let her, of course, because that was like salt in Mike's wound, because it is usually HIM that she is trailing behind! Anyway, enough about fishing, cuz that is only exciting for a few seconds, right!! haha

Ok, here are some photos I took last night...

This is of the sun...

Photobucket
This is the sun and a phenomenon known to my farmer hubby as a "Sun Dog" You can see a small glow in the left corner, mid-sky.

Photobucket

Now, here is the close up of the "Sun Dog" only...
Photobucket

Isn't that amazing. My hubby is an "old school" farmer and we read the almanac and have the funky calendar with a bunch of jibberish that tells you when it's good to fish, when you should trim your trees....I've still been looking for the one that says when I am supposed to pick my nose...I am sure there is a "right time". Anyway, a "Sun Dog" signals a weather change (for better or worse) will happen in 3 days. The "Sun Dog" was last night, so a change of weather can be expected Wed/Thurs. Interesting, eh? My hubby and father-in-law are firm believers in this. This is why I got a big kick out of fishing last night...the sign on the calendar showed a colored in fish--meaning good fishing. And Mike didn't catch a SINGLE ONE!!

Can I get a YEE HAW!!

See Folks, isn't my life SOOO exciting! It's the little things...that's what I live for!!

Sweet Corn For Sale!!

This is my Friday Fiesta Foto Finish for this week. I have mentioned Candid Carrie before, but if you haven't checked her out, you need to. It gives us all a great opportunity to share some of our favorite photos. Her blog rocks. I have a button on the right, so if you haven't go see her pronto!

Photobucket

Yes, Yes...another endearing pic of my little gal. As many of you know, we have been corn selling fools for 2 weeks. I always grumble about it (at least after the first few days, when the "this is neat" has worn off). Well, we are finally done. Almost 2 full weeks of bustin' our butts, but we are finished. This pic is of the last loader full of corn that we had. We sold/delivered over 200 dozen ears of corn...all hand picked by US! The only sad thing is that, I did not pick enough for me to freeze back for us. But, at this point in the game, I don't give a rats about that! We had so much fun though, tromping in the corn field and meeting so many great people at our produce stand.

Thanks for checking me out today....now if I could just find someone selling corn!! haha, oh, and YEE HAW!

Consider Yourself Tagged

A big howdy do! A friend of mine has graciously tagged me for this. Go check her UN-Spectacalar Things out: Plain and Simple, that's me!: Tag I'm It - Next it's YOU!#links
Since she has tagged me and now you all must endure more useless knowledge about myself. So here it goes....Six UN-Spectacular Things About Me . . . Here's the rules:

*Link the person who tagged you

*Mention the rules on your blog

*Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours

Tag 6 blogger's by linking them & leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they have been tagged. (ok, I am bending the rules...I just tagged all on my bloglist, and linked original tag...I am pooped out and lazy today! If you do this, just don't forget to comment on their blogs)

1) I recently, (last week, to be exact) fell in love with Stephanie Meyers "Twilight
Series" (I've freakin' tried to link these books to this list, but I am still in the beginner stage and am too ignorant to figure this out...ahhhhhhhhh)Anyway, I become full fledged OCD and read the entire series in 8 days...keep in mind I work 40hours a week! Now I am so bummed that there is not another book for me to obsess about.

2) I went down one of those big "Air Slides" this past weekend...it was a blast! We sprayed it down with armor al...ride of a lifetime!!

3) I cannot stand peas...never have. Even when I was a kid, mom says that I would find the peas in mixed veggies, and spit them out on the plate. I can tolerate sugar snap peas, but that is it!

4) I have eaten an entire medium pizza by myself before.

5) I was a nanny in New York...and wish I still kept in touch with the family.

6) I have insomnia...and take prescriptions for this.

Ok, I made it. I know they are short and sweet...and I tend to ramble on & on usually, but I am irked that I couldn't link pics of those books and I am off to go figure it out. Yes, I know...OCD! I can't help IT!!

I am tagging all those in my blog roll....this exercise has exhausted my brain, but I can't bring myself to delete and move on...or even get all the links. So this is my LAZY, FRUSTRATED version of a wonderful game that has left me feeling defeated. Ahh...the work day is almost over...I need a drink!

First day of SCHOOL!

School Already?

Today was Ky’s 1st day back at school…. 5th grade, can you believe it? Hard to imagine this is her last year in elementary. She is playing with her trumpet now…. Dear Lord what was I thinking?? The poor dogs are all hiding, including Ladybug. When I got home tonight, Mike and Ky met me at the door, each holding their instruments—they called themselves the .... Jazz Band. It was funny, Mike tried playing his sax, and I tried the trumpet again…. it was pretty sad, really!! I don’t think either one of us have any hope for joining a REAL band anytime soon!

We went to Paris tonight…had to make a delivery for work, and then we went out to eat at the only restaurant in town, “Jonesy’s Diner”. It was a neat place. Nothing fancy. The old time bar w/ stools are still in the middle of the dining area w/ old wooden booths for additional dining. All kinds of junk, old and new, on the walls…the best part was that the kitchen was in true diner fashion—open for all to see. Ky was intrigued with the old-time milk shakes. She had strawberry, chocolate for me, and Mike had homemade coconut cream pie. We all were in heaven. When we were finished, Ky and I broke out singing a Beatles song together—it was on the radio. Our waitress and cook got a kick out of Ky knowing that song! Yes, I am one of “those” mothers! I make Ky listen to real, TRUE music…I have to make up for the Jonas Brothers somehow! UGH! This must be how my parents felt when I would go ga-ga over New Kids in the 80’s. Boy was I pathetic!

Now I must pause as Ky has entered the room with her beautiful trumpet. I will listen and do my best to ooh and ahh at all the right times…. in between the serenity prayer, of course….

(Ky begins playing the trumpet)
Photobucket

(My brain…who am I kidding…my entire BEING, with a twist of Motherly love, responding to the beautiful music)

“Ok…a sick dog has climbed into this trumpet and is dying a slow and painful death. An entire school year of wearing earplugs has now become my destiny!! Excuse me while I listen…enthusiastically, of course!”

Well, the house is now quiet again…the little trumpeter has gone to bed. I have never been so relieved to “strictly” enforce bedtime. And to think…she didn’t even have band class today. I know. I know. Don’t tell me, the best is yet to come? Thanks for the cliché, but I don’t need to hear that…literally!

Excuse me...Attention PLEASE!!

Alrighty everyone....no time like the present! I have a bloggy pal that is doing amazing things....and she is bustin' her lil' hiney to raise money for CANCER SUCKS!! I think this title is very well suited, don't ya think. My dad is a cancer survivor and my pal Polly just got her 5 year clean bill of health...a survivor of breast cancer! I can't tell you how terrified I am of cancer, as it claimed the life of my husband's mom in 1999. This woman is running in a marathon (currently training) for Team in Training in January & to raise money, she is making a cookbook. She has been nursing 2 stress fractures, on crutches, wheelchair and now back at it. She is also asking for stories about our loved ones who have faced "Cancer" head on. So far, she has not had anywone respond to her request...so I am asking all of you wonderful people....let's help her out! She is a hard workin' lady who faces many challenges, yet doesn't complain...she faces it head on, determined to make a difference. She is one to be admired by all...so please, run over to her site or even send these to my email, wagner31332@yahoo.com Together we can show her that we can all unite and make this a successful event...for all of us! Here is the link...

Friday Fiesta Foto Finish

Today's featured SITS bloggy friend is Carrie. You can find her at http://carriestuckmann.blogspot.com/
She is loads of fun and does this great Friday Foto thing.

So, I too am going to join the fun and post my current most favorite photo.....

Photobucket

I just love this photo because Ky has really fallen in love with her baby "boys". You can't tell, but she is in her PJ's. We had worked the cattle that evening and we sent her in to shower--get ready for bed. Well, she was speedy this night and came back out so she could tell them good night. If you look, she has on her camo gum boots on too! This photo sums up my summer thus far...blessed. It's been spectacular, (except the rain, of course)!

If you would like to play along, post your fav foto today with a short description as to why. Leave me a comment with a link to your blog and I will add a link to your blog in mine! A fun way to end the work week! Enjoy!!

13 Fun and Quirky Facts about ME!

Ok, I was reading my fellow SITS feature today (yes, I am a day behind...duh!) Anyway, she was tagged by another blogger to complete this little survey. Go see, Burried with Children at http://mimitchells.blogspot.com . She is a lady after my own heart!! If you decide to do this, leave a link in my comments so that I can take a look as well.

So drum roll please.............

1. I must have my underwear folded in a certain way. You must fold each side into the middle, then fold up center to waistband and tuck. My household has finally learned to let mom fold the undies...it drives me crazy folded any other way!!

2. June bugs freak me out! The way they fly into your hair, pelt your forhead...they are just plain nasty! And crunchy!! I can't stand it when we are outside and they "gather" around the garage door light, then fall to the floor after headbutting the light bulb, only to be crunched under your flip flops! Gag!! Nasty, worthless bug!

3. I love LOVE Neil Diamond! He is a musical genious! I recorded the American Idol with him on it so that I can listen to him....I have a girlfriend that shares my passion who I MUST call everytime I hear him on the radio!

4. I must drink a Coke every day...just one. I love this stuff, even though I know it is bad for me! And Pepsi just doesn't cut it!

5. One of my most favorite stores to go to is Randolph Mercantile, in Moberly, MO. I can just roam in there for great lengths of time. It is a home decor store that mixes antiques & reproductions flawlessly with a hint of shabby chic flav with a dash of primitive. Christmas is the best time to go. She has this awesome old time sleigh out in the front of her store with real Christmas Trees piled in. Ahhh....I think it is time to take a little road trip. Last time my pal Angie and I went, we had to make 2 trips b/c it would not fit all at once. So we drove 40 minutes home, unloaded, and drove back. The place is addicting!!

6. Along with #5, I adore flea markets. We (hubby, Ky & I) will make a scavenger hunt list of things to find. We'll leave mid morning and travel wherever the road takes us, stopping at all the flea markets on the way. We have great fun! There is usually points assigned for each thing, but somehow the points never matter! Ky found this great jar w/ marbles in it, then shooters for each of us further down the road. We just love playing marbles!

7. I am addicted to reading. By addicted, I mean...can't stop once I start. My husband always groans when I purchase a new Jodi Picoult or James Patterson...cuz I will read until 4 am if I have to. I always tell myself that I will "read to the next chapter" but that never happens. I am a very fast reader. I read JK Rowling's last installment of Harry Potter in 3 days. I just have such a hard time putting it down b/c I want to know what happens!

8. I love playing scramble on facebook. Ridiculous, I know...but I like to see if I can beat my best score. I have sadly only made it into the top 10 one time!! So sad....isn't it! haha

9. This number just so happens to be the best number of all time. Love this number!

10. My new favorite color is orange...don't ask why...it just is. I don't want to paint any rooms orange (at least not yet!!), I just like to wear the color. I noticed this when I cleaned my closet out last week...I have lots of orange. My pal Ang used to make fun of me b/c I always had black or brown, so I try to pay close attention...I don't wanna be a drab bag!!

11. I am really sad that Warrick will no longer be on CSI...all the good people are leaving. I am trying not to panic, but even Gil is leaving! YIKES!

12. I am super angry at KRCG--Channel 13 (our CBS provider) Since they are demanding a 130 % increase for DISH Network to re-broadcast their signal, I am missing out on David Letterman and the news--the other channels only have idiots working for them...the news has been quite painful lately.

13. Mint choco chip icecream...yum yum!! Wish I was close to a Baskin Robbins!!

OK, now you try! I can't wait to see what you all have to say!!

Stick a fork in me...I AM DONE!

Holy shiesters.......it is freakin' HOT!! And of course, this past weekend was our summer celebration where another family and us decided to venture to Six Flags...the Zoo....outside stuff, no biggie, right.....WRONG! Freakin' ass hot.....I bet I lost 6 lbs just from sweating. Thank goodness for Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags....because I was a hot momma ready to STRIKE!! I felt like one of those vipers cooped up at the zoo...just waiting to wig out. When we finally got in the "bath house", Ky looked at me and said, "Mom, I can't get my swimsuit up!" She was on the verge of a panic attack! I mean really, Six Flags, no airconditioning? Gimme a flippin' break! It was 103 degrees, not including heat index and no AC??? Are they idiots?? Finally got Ky's suit on her, then it was momma's turn....and boy howdy....I had to use my imagination and a little bit of chanting to get my suit on.....I was pretending I was in Alaska and chanting " c'mom MFr!!" Quietly of course, because of little ears...and Ky likes to "cash" in on my potty mouth--yes we have a curse jar, yet for some reason, Mike never pays. Anyway...finally made it into the suit and out of hell...I mean, the bath house.....what a joke.

Ok, now Kelly will probly kill me, but this was the funniest thing ever...we left Six Flags and their hell house behind to check into our hotel downtown..the Hyatt. We pull up, exhausted and nearly in tears b/c we all just wanted a shower and AC, so we open the back of the van and **SPLAT**!!!! A cooler dumps out onto the busy street, in front of the nice hotel and our beer, soda, water....and Kelly's bra fall out! I about pee'd my pants.....we were still in our swimsuits w/ towels around us, checking into this 5 star hotel, chasing beverages down the street. I know the clerk that checked us in was thinking "what the hell?", but oh well....what the clerk experienced is nothing compared to what the valet & bell boy did--loading our 6 coolers, suitcases and kid junk on a cart. They earned their tip, that is for sure!

So I survived our hot weekend get away with lots of laughs (the best way). Now if I can just survive the rest of this heat wave...sheesh! Oh, and rain...we are getting more rain! Can you believe that crap! Whoever is doing this rain dance thing...I will find you and hunt you down, so PLEASE STOP! Just kidding.....or am I?? Toodles til Later.........H

4H Fair Friends

We survived...the 4H Fair!!

Well, as I mentioned earlier, the 4H fair was last week. And what a treat it was! Hard work, no doubt and a little warm, but hey, no harm in a little sweat, right? We started off the fair Friday night, July 18th, with entering exhibits in the hall. Crazy!! I left my "fair bible" (the fair book) at home and had to mooch off of fellow Merry Martins....they are so great! So we completed the forms needed and were waiting to be called for Ky to meet with judges when this short smart ass woman from another club was getting all cranky with our kids....long story short, all clubs have a sign in time, ours was at 4. She was "cheating" and trying to register her kids stuff when our club was....so whoever you are lady, take a happy pill and relax! Sheesh!! It really amazes me how parents act, sometimes more immature than their kids! Ky ended up getting all blue ribbons on her exhibits (4) and a blue on her ham!! YEAH!

The next day was the beef show...what we have been busting our butts for weeks on. We got up at the butt-crack-of-dawn...shoot, not even dawn....did you know that it is still dark at 4:30 am?? Anyway, we showed up to the fairgrounds at a little before 7, and tried to get settled. Well low and behold, Mid-MO 4H group is special...why, I am not for sure. But they had a whole side of the barn "reserved" with a big ole' banner stating their lovely name going across. They must have done it the night before, because, guess what! They were no where to be seen! Most of them didn't show up until mid morning....hmmmmmmmm, interesting.Thought it was a first come first serve, but nope....I guess MidMO Club has some clout somewhere. Whatever.....so the beef show went great...a little disappointed that since there were not any entries for grooming or showmanship for Ky's age, she got bumped an age group, but she did a great job and learned a lot. That little Montgomery girl is so sweet...and kicks butt at grooming! Ky ended up taking Grand Champion for the Bucket Calf class...she was excited and will tell you that the beef show was her favorite!

That same night the dog show took place at 7pm. Poor Ky was beat! She had busted her butt all day keeping her stalls cleaned and fresh water for calves, but she headed off to the next event without even complaining. Ladybug (Ky's long haired Daschund)was a little "hot", to say the least...and did not do so good in the first event. I must say the rude ass lady in front of me almost had the privledge of wearing my gatorade because of her thoughtless comments...when Ky walked up, she said, "Well great...the girl that wins everything. Who told her she could be here?" I ignored her, the good, rational parent that I am (HA!) and watched the show....the hateful woman's kid won that class and smirked, saying "showed her!" (again, I kept quiet...what's up with that??)Ky was pooped, and while waiting for the next class, fell off a brick pilar and scraped under her arm. I ran down to her and she said, "Mommy, I am just so tired" but I let her know that we finish what we start and to just try her best. When I got back up on the bleachers, hateful hoochie looked at me. I told her as sweet as could be, "what a great sport she is!" and took my seat behind her. The old bag moved! Ky ended up taking Grand Champion in obedience...but more than that, she learned to never give up & to have fun! The obstacle course was the funniest....Ladybug went under the hurdles, around the hool-a-hoop and did not want to move! We were all laughing and kept yelling at Ky..."keep going!" When they finally made it to the end, everyone, except the hateful hoochie, clapped and hooted for her! It was great!

I am going to end my tale here and continue later. But one comment I want to make about our 4H Club...these people are amazing. They came out to support their fellow Merry Martins in the different events, even if they themselves were not participating. Ky had a long day and was getting discouraged after she fell and got hurt. But they rallied--parents & kids...came over to watch Ky....Mae F, Noel & Becky S + Steven, Vicki D & Morgan, Megan G, Kerri D, and others came by too. It just amazes me how people took time out of their busy day to show their support. Sometimes that is all someone needs to lift their spirits...people that believe in them. That Saturday was a wonderful day....we had tears and lots of sweat, but we as a family learned that it truly is the little things that make a difference....we just need to stop and appreciate it.

The Proof of Nana's Ride

Who Would've Thunk It?

Many of you know my mom--a proper lady that knows what she wants out of life...independent & hard working. Many see my mom as prim...maybe even a little uptight, but it's an act folks....a beautiful show that she has perfected over the years. We all know that she & I have had our quables in the past, but as mother hood paid me a long-term visit about 10 years ago, she's really not that bad. "What?!" some of you may think.....Heather is not only praising her mom, but BLOGGING about it? Well, we only have one mom in this world and I think mine is pretty awesome....and she continues to amaze me.

Prime example, Ma & Pa (I don't really call them that, I just wanted to feel like Little House on the Prairie for a brief moment) Anyway, my parents came out yesterday morning to help with these goofy bulls we are trying to get ready for fair. Dad brought out some paint to touch up the grooming shoot and mom came along for the ride. Ky & I had to go to Bowling Green to the Feed Store there (told you Mike would make me go on errands!!) and when we got back....I don't know if it was the fresh cow-poo scented air or what....but my mother got CRAZY!! Not only did she agree to get ON a 4wheeler, but the Wild Southern Belle herself drove the dang thing...and I have proof! Didn't believe me did you....I was in shock! Now it did take about 5 minutes to explain to her that this was an automatic, so there was no clutch.....but then ZOOM!! She was off! I was in such shock I stood there motionless....she really did it!! She was driving....but not just any driving, no siree!!! She was hootin' & hollerin" like a wild banshee, laughing and speeding around the farm!! She went on a heck of a joy ride! They zipped around the barn before I knew it and I ran out into the field to catch the woman in action....she was too fast for me....all I could get were these "still" shots. What a riot it was! This woman, my mother, who had never driven a 4wheeler in her life....continues to amaze me!

Life is about taking chances, trying new things and hooting as loud as you can every now and then. Life...it's yours, so why not enjoy it?

Thanks Mom!!!

Out for the day...

Today is a glorious day....don't have to juggle as many hats around today. Oh yes...the working mom is off today. Now keep in mind that a day off usually generates more work, because I typically push many things off til' later....like laundry, dusting, and in my case, even grocery shopping. I woke up this morning to find I was out of milk, bread, cereal and fruit! What kind of mother am I? Where did my Friday night grocery shopping excursion at Wal-Mart go? Oh wait, that's right...I am sure I was messing with those "steaks" in my backyard! Funny that I don't have a thing to eat in the house, but I have a nice Ribeye steak in my barn! Oh, the irony...

So today I am mom...we are picking up our ham, finalizing our 3 recipes for Ky's cooking exhibits, finishing up the rabbit nesting box, wash the dang bulls, grocery shop (momma is hungry!) and I noticed that my dear hubby used the last towel last night, so let's throw some laundry in. Somewhere in this mix, I am sure Mike will think I am his "hired farm hand" for the day and I will throw in a few trips to MFA, Sydenstricker's and where ever he thinks I have the time to go.....maybe I should go in to work???

Sheesh...I think I am a bit crabby....maybe I should just go to bed and start over?

ok....here it goes.................

Hey all! I am out for the day! Enjoying Ky and my loving hubby! What a grand day this will be! I hope you all have a great day! Chat with you soon!!

OK...that makes me nautious....if anyone really wakes up feeling like that...all chipper & happy...stay away until at least 3pm!!! Later!!!

No BULL!

Ok, so I like to think of myself as "prepared"--a gal who can roll with the punches. Let me tell you, getting ready for this year's 4H Fair is about to make me an even older woman! Last year was our first official year, and it was pretty smooth sailing, we had the rabbits ready, dog was primed...that was it. Well, the bigger the lifestock, the bigger the headache. I am typically a "town" girl (Mexico cannot be called a "city"...no way, no how) and I married a farmboy. I love the farm life....the freedom of the wide open spaces. I think I have adapted pretty well, I've always loved cooking and being outside. My idea, however, of large "lifestock" is my 80 lb Weimeraner dog. Our daughter begged us last year that she wanted to do the bucket calf class. They were so cute...yada yada yada...fine with me. I was excited. We got our 120lb "babies" the 2nd week of April and it was wonderful...bottlefeeding and lovin' on them, they were so sweet!

Now, they are close to 350-400 lbs...and let me tell ya, they are a force to be reconed with. Oh, and by the way, they are BULLS...need I say more. We have been working these little hellions every morning and night for 2-3 hrs each time, and they are a mess!! When they were little, they would nudge you with their heads....I am here to say that the "nudge" has now become a full blown headbutt! I was sweating my big ole butt off wrastling them (no that is not a typo, because it was not wrestling...I wrAstled them, or rather they wrastled me). Now their goal is to see how far they can push me to my limit....they have taken to crapping in their fresh water. Now Missouri weather is not pleasant in July & I become slightly insane when I get overheated (or so I have been told! HA) So, picture my poor 10 year old girl's dismay last night when we haul the 2nd bull's water to only find the 1st one has crapped in his water! Long story short, I ended up with crap all over me, head to toe. I was sweaty, from cleaning out the dry crap from the stock trailer, and ended up with a fresh poo scented body spray. Who ever said cattle are a dumb animal, have not met my 2 masterminded bulls. Best of luck to Ky and her show on Saturday. May God bless us all!!

(For all that are interested, fam & frens, I've posted the fair schedule link below!!)
